Welcome to MEAD 2021!!!

**NOTE that you only can attend THREE SESSIONS in order to keep session capacity to 60 participants. However, everyone is invited to attend the keynote address which is pinned to your schedule.

SCHEDULE: The schedule below is color coded by strand. The schedule can be filtered by strand, grade band, content area, or session time to help you find the sessions you want to attend. We highly recommend you start filtering by grade-band to help focus on your areas of interest.

To see your schedule for the day, you can click on your profile picture in the top right corner or hover your cursor over your profile picture next to the tabs and select “My Sched”.

EVALUATIONS: Please complete an evaluation for each session attended, the keynote address, and for your General Conference experience (at the end of your day). Professional development hours and prize raffle tickets will be assigned for completed evaluations.

CONFERENCE HELP: We know that the transition to a virtual conference raises the possibility for technological problems. Therefore, we will have a Zoom Help Desk open the entire day of the conference to offer tech support and address other issues. For other concerns, please contact Rodrigo Gutiérrez at rodrigog@math.arizona.edu

Join us as we explore finding percentages of numbers mentally- by using our reasoning skills. You and your students will be able to find any % of number mentally. For example, what is 99% of 250? My students love this activity and are more confident in their math skills as a result.

I have been a teacher in AZ since 1991.  I believe that math is something you learn by experience- not taking notes.  My classes are always high energy and practical. I hope you will join me as we explore some important ideas.
